Learn how to trace your drawings and then use the mouse to color them. For those of you who don't have a Wacom-tablet like me, this is the real deal. It takes LOADS of time, but eventually it's worth it!
Coloring a Drawing
Color a drawing you made!
-
Step 1 Open a drawing of your own;
I used a part from the Christmas-card I designed for my family in 2004;
Note:THIS IS AN ACTUAL PIECE OF MY PORTFOLIO AND A FAMOUS TUTORIAL. DO NOT TRY TO COPY!

-
Step 2 Use the pen-tool (You can only use the pen-tool for this tutorial) to trace the lines;
When you traced them, stroke them and choose a small black brush (Trace it parts, It can't all go in one time);

-
Step 3 Create a new layer underneath the lines and color with ONE color;
Then use the Burn- and Dodge-tool to highlight and shadow parts;

-
Step 4 Color every part of the drawing seperate;

-
Step 5 Take your time, no need to rush - This can and will take long;

-
Step 6 You can also decide to make highlight and shadow with the selection-tools to get a cutout-effect;

-
Step 7 You must use the blur-tool and the eraser wisely - Don't erase too much, and don't blur too much;

-
Step 8 When you're done, think of a background that fits in the composition;

-
Step 9 And you're done... (I made my background dark-blue, because it was night on the Christmas-card);
